Ashe County Activities
 In
Ashe County, the opportunities for outdoor recreation are
endless. For those that enjoy nature
and love the chance to get out and see
the mountains, you can hike, mountain
bike or horseback ride. The Blue Ridge
Parkway, which runs through Ashe County
NC, provides endless outdoor fun for
those that enjoy the mountains. Spend
the day playing golf in the mountains,
as Ashe County is home to two award
winning golf courses. Also, there are
several excellent parks that offer great
places to fish or raft down the New
River.
For children of all ages, take a visit
to the Ashe County Cheese Company, one
of Ashe County’s most famous
attractions. Learn about how cheese is
made and take a tour of the factory. The New River Zoo is also a favorite
spot and a great place to
take the kids to see exotic wildlife and
farm animals.
For a romantic and relaxing time, take a
trip to the local wineries. Ashe County
is home to two wineries, the New River
Winery and Thistle Meadow Winery, both
of which offer tours and tastings.
There is something for everyone to enjoy
in
Ashe County, you’ll never run out of
things to do and see!
